ACADE 2024 BATCH PLOT VS PLOT - LINE WEIGHT ISSUE

I have seen similar issues posted here and I have tried many solutions to no avail.

When I plot individual sheets to pdf, they print fine (plot from model)- plot setting:

Result:

When I use PUBLISH to PDF in project manager certain lines print at a different weight. Lines are same layer with same properties in the drawing

Publish settings:

Can you type PAGESETUP command and open the "Elec Plot" settings, and post a screenshot please.

Also, does checking the box plot object lineweights help?

Hi @arshdeepsingh404  Thanks for your reply. elec plot screen shot:

russell_bumfordDGN6N_0-1752031151791.png

If I select plot object lineweights it helps on that particular line but  prints all others with a really heavy weight and all the text very light. I've inherited the dwg's so some of the layer settings are probably off, however still doesnt explain why lines on the same layer print differently.

Hi @arshdeepsingh404  I have been trying many different options to get this to work but still no success. I get very nice pdf's when I individually plot but once I try and publish through manager the line weights are just not great.

I tried using PLOT from the project manager menu instead. See screen shots. These settings are the same as individual plots. This time I get a blank sheet except for the plot stamp!

Do all of the drawings use the same plot settings when doing a batch plot?

arshdeepsingh404_0-1752453340003.png

Can you try creating a new named page setup using the PAGESETUP command on the very first drawing? Then, during batch plot, Press CTRL+A to select all drawings, and from the drop-down, select the new page setup that you created.

Also, try using the monochrome pen assignment.

I think I will need to look at drawing files to do more troubleshooting, Is it possible for you to share a couple of dwgs?

Yes I do. Trying out the latest suggestions today - had another issue that wouldn't allow me to open ACADE which is now sorted

Hello @russell_bumfordDGN6N

Check out the settings I used and attached PDF results.

The results look pretty similar.
One thing I did change was to set PDFSHX to 0, This can sometime leads to light liveweights and SHX text comments in PDF.

Yes I am still having the same issue I don't know whether its an Adobe problem as it displays fine in a browser. Just don't understand why, when all lines are on the same layer and have exactly the same properties why they display differently

Did you get a chance to try the PDFSHX suggestion that I mentioned above?

Check this article: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Lineweights-do-not...

Especially that part about changing a setting in Adobe Reader.

In addition to @arshdeepsingh404's suggestion to change PDFSHX variable to 0, try changing variable AEPDFFONTALT to OFF. I ran into the same or similar situation many years back. Those (2) variables fixed the PDF print issues I was having at the time.

Thanks for the suggestion @brett_cci, Still the same. I just tried something different - redrew the line (wire) on a different layer BLK_12_THHN, printed and it came out good. All my other lines (wires) are on YEL_14_THHN, so I matched their properties to this redrawn line and it printed perfect individually. Then I completed a batch plot and it cam out perfect. Looks like I need to redraw all the suspect lines which will be time consuming but at least a solution.
