Support file path and locating

Thank you in advancew - 

I am looking at a 2008 version of Autocad Architecture - (please do not comment on this  it is to help a collegue - and it works for them) - I can not locate the supprt file path interface - trying to modify the hatch pattern file  - in other versions - .pat . , ,pgp . etc worked - 

again 2008 autocad archecture - dialogue to find the file directory of support . files - 

please help me find this - thank you

further information - maybe to clarify - 

in other versions of ACAD - >Tools>Options>Files Tab .  this is where we see and change the support file et al..

I do not see this tab in ACAD Architecture 2008 - but I know it is there somewhere - there is hatch patterns available to user... I am assuming that this file can be edited and added to.... Thank you again in advance

The Options dialog should have a Files tab.  It is the one farthest to the left.  AutoCAD Architecture adds tabs beyond those in basic AutoCAD; often there are more tabs than can be displayed.  Perhaps you are opening the dialog to a tab that is on the right side, and the Files tab is not displaying.  At the right side of the tabs, there should be two arrow buttons to scroll the tabs to the right or left.  Try scrolling all the way to the left.

That said, what operating system is being used to run ACA 2008.  If memory serves, under recent versions of Windows, the ACAD.pat and ACADISO.pat file should be located here, or something close to this:
C:\Users\dkoch\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ACA 2008\enu\Support

The AppData folder is hidden in Windows by default, so you either have to turn on the display of hidden files and folders or type in the path in the address bar in File (Windows) Explorer.  The name of the "ACA 2008" folder may be different; perhaps AutoCAD Architecture is spelled out.  I do not have access to an installation of ACA 2008 to verify.

That Support folder will also have a subfolder called pats, where additional hatch pattern definition files are stored.

All of the above assumes a standard installation, with out-of-the-box default file locations.

At the commandline, use LISP to find your session's content:

(findfile "acad.pat")
or
(findfile "acad.pgp")

and so on.

Well thank you and i feel really not attentive - there are migration arrows left and right in top right hand corner - as soon as I read your response i tapped left arrow -- viola.. thank you very much
