File manager customization

Is there any way to change the color of the background in the area where folders are pinned in the file manager box? 

I know i'm getting older, but even the younger  guys in the office find it hard to see.

Are you on Windows 7 or Windows 10?

I wrote this up a few years ago for Windows 7, and never updated it for Windows 10, but I just added the info for Win10. I'll have to add some screenshots later.
