Wall Around Window Frame

I would like to insert a window style in a wall thicker than the window frame AND to create a 2" wall around this same window frame.  Attached is an image of the condition from plan and from elevation. We have easily created the thick walls we need but we do not know how to create this condition in our ACAD Architecture model?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have tried modyfiny the profile, but, I am not getting any results. Anytime I modify the profile the shape of the window changes without achieving the effect I am looking for. Again, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You need to create a window opening end cap style.

E.g. right click the wall, select Encaps > Edit in Place.

Save the endcap as an opening style that you can apply to each window (or door)

leothebuilder, thanks for the prompt reply. Sounds like a plan! We will try your solution and share how it goes.

@leothebuilder's suggestion was a good one.  Here is a 2013-format file (will open with ACA 2013 and later) with a Wall, Window and Wall Opening Endcap similar to what you show.  I doubt it is exactly the Wall you want, or the Endcap, but it does show that it can be done.  I created the Wall Opening Endcap Style (and the underlying Wall Endcap Style) by using the Endcap Edit in Place tool on the Wall contextual ribbon tab.

Hello David.

We tried your method and it worked really well. However, there is one component that we could not modify. It is the exterior siding. Please see attached image and I also attached a dwg file for reference. Any idea of why it is not letting us modify the component?

You have a style-level display override set for this Wall Style for the Plan Display Representation, which was the active Display Representation in the drawing (Medium Detail Display Configuration, Top View Direction).  In that override, you have the Boundary 1 (Siding) component turned off, which is why you cannot edit the endcap in place for that component.  It appears to be on because the Shrink Wrap component is turned on and the siding is the outermost component in that Wall Style.

I turned the component back on, temporarily, edited the endcap, saving the edits to the existing styles, and then turned that component back off, on the assumption that you mean for it to be turned off.  See the attached file.
