Slow performance when connected to network???

Hi.. Would like to know if there is anyone who has the solution to my problem with slow performance in Autocad when connected to network. I timed the diffrence in startup-time, with and without te networkcable attached, and found that with the cable in = 160sec, and without = 12 sec. The computer is connected with high performance internet speed ~100Mbit/s.

Also after a while, the saving process can take  up to 120sec to complete.  When this start to happen, a restart of autocad is the only option.

The internet is filled with people experince the same problem, but no solution. This must be a known issue at autodesk. Please!! what to do??

Hi @Anonymous

My first thoughts is if you have network drives which AutoCAD is looking for.

If you go to "Options" and then the "Files" tab you can see what folders AutoCAD is looking at for various settings.

As a quick test you could always export your AutoCAD settings as a backup and then reset AutoCAD to default and see if this has any effects. You would then know if its a settings that has been changed which is causing problems. If this makes no difference you can just import your backed up settings again.

If it does make a difference you can either work off the default settings if your happy with this or start the task of working out which setting is causing your problem.

Instructions here:

Let us know how you get on or if you have already tried this.
