Save As window

I recently got a new computer with Windows 10.  My old computer had Windows 7.  I was able to download AutoCAD Architecture to the new computer with our subscription and logged in with no problem.  I did not change any settings.  But a curious thing seems to be different.  When I SaveAs a new window doesn't pop up I get a line in the control ribbon at the bottom of the screen.  It first has:

"Enter file format [R14(LT98&LT97) 2000(LT2000) 2004(LT2004) 2007(LT2007) 2010(LT2010) 2013(LT2013) 2018(LT2018 Standards DXF Template] <2018>"

Since I'm using AutoCAD Architecture 2020 I hit enter.

Then (this is the issue) in the control ribbon it has :

"SAVEAS Save drawing as" and it lists the last full file path and name the drawing was saved as.  Which means to Save As a different name or in a different folder means typing in the full path.  On my previous computer a window would pop up allowing easy selection of a different file name or folder.

Is there some setting/control to re-set so SaveAs gives me a pop up window?

Ah, a classic that stings noobs for the last 30-years...

FILEDIA variable needs to be turned on, look it up in HELP.
You might as well keep track of CMDDIA variable as well, also needs to be on all the time,.

HTH

Can I say this is a stupid command and in 25+ years I have never had to reset it.

Thanks a lot for the solution!

After 16 years working with acad I thought I was not a noob anymore. Seems like I was wrong. 😛

@Alonso_Alvarez I'm glad it helped you out: if you run a modern version of AutoCAD/LT there is a tool called SYSVARMONITOR that has a handful of these very old core variable on it's watch list. Consider turning that on and paying attention to it's alerts to put them back

And feel free to add to that list for other variables you might prefer to be set one way or the other all the time too, this is my partial list for example
