walls/lines are to small on workspace. please help

I'm new to the 2018 version of autocad, i use to use the 2014 model. Every time i start a new project, the workspace will load and the i will select the line tool, and make a 50ft line but the line would appear tiny and i would have to zoom in to see the measurement. i've already tried setting the right units from millimeter to feet but it doesnt have any effect. if i place down a wall on a normal workspace it would have to at least 300ft to be able to see it. i do not know what else to do and try to fix it.

With what template file are you starting that new drawing?  If you want to work in feet and inches, use a template file that is set up for imperial units.

You are zoomed out too far.  You need to zoom in to draw.

If this is a new drawing it is starting zoomed out too far.  I believe that the starting point of a new drawing is set by the drawing limits variable.  Set that to a reasonable level and that may fix your start up problem.
