Putting my Model in Context (Google Earth?)

I've created my model. I want to render "in situ". Is there a way I can do this by using Google Earth? (Or what is the best way to get it in the context, which is an urban crossroads.)

This is for a Grad school project - need help fast.

If you have access to Navisworks Simulate, that includes a Google Earth export option.

You might want to expand on what exactly you are looking for e.g. on a plan view you could render what you have and composite it onto another image.  A street-view type image could also be composited the same way although that would be a bit more work.

I thought there was a way to drop my model into Google Earth from autocad...and then render a street view, which would be the goal I am trying to achieve.

Hi @VaDesigner10,

Thank you for posting your question here in the community.

AutoCAD-based programs (ACA included) use Bing Maps for geographic location, and not Google Earth. You can geolocate your building and display a 2D map. However, I don't think there is an option to display your model in a 3D version of the map, nor render it there (although this would be a very cool feature!).

You may want to request this as a feature enhancement via our Product Feedback page.

If you have access to Sketchup Pro you can export your model to Sketchup and then it's a straightforward process to locate it in Google Earth and capture a 3d view.  Of course you'll lose all of your materials in this process.
