downloading and uploading dwg files between autocad and Homestyler

My architect and engineer both use autocad, but different versions.

I am renovating a house with very tight clearances.

I want to use homestyler to send files to them and to edit files from them.

Does homestyler allow me to send homestyler files to them and receive autocad files from them?

Does homestyler save files as dwg files and read imported dwg files?

Is using homestyler a good way to begin how to use a more sophisiticated autodesk software such as autocad lt?

Are all of the features of homestyler found in your architectural autodesk software?

Is there another autodesk program that would be simpler than autocad architecture, but have a few more features than homestyler?

Autodesk Homestyler support is through that FAQ page here http://www.homestyler.com/faq

Homestyler is created for you, the non-professional, and it's free: your design team use professional grade software running on serious workstations and they spent +/-$5000 on that software alone before 10+ years of experience with it. I don't recommend to spend that kind of money and time, perhaps you can pay the team a little more to do the work you are trying to save money doing yourself? Just a thought.

In the meantime why don't you exchange files with your design team and see how it may or may not work.

I have already spent $20,000.00 on my design team and am faced with the
prospect of another $20,000.00 before I am done.

I am trying to do a lot of things with a very limited space.

I am much better off sketching something out myself to see its limitations
before asking my architect and engineer to do it.

Any good design professional can take me for a ride with all the things I
am trying to accomplish.

In the meantime, since my email to you, I did find that I can export dwg
files from Homestyler, but I cannot import dwg files.

Also, I have not been able to figure out how to export my Homestyler files
to Homestyler Beta and vice versa.

Is there a way to do this?

Is there any other Autodesk program more sophisticated than Homestyler, but
less expensive than Autodesk LT that would help me here with at least the
ability to import Autocad files?

Print whatever you sketch up to PDF, in whatever program you wish to sketch in, and share it. They can import PDFs into their AutoCAD files all day long. We all do it.

This is not the place to ask about HomeStyler: see my links above for where to go ask for help with it. There aren't many other similar programs out there for consumers to use, sorry. Try a Google Search or ask your Architect/Engineer for options.

Good luck.
