Importing Autocad Architecture file into Rhino

Hi,

As the title suggests, I'm trying to import my dwg file from Autocad Architecture into Rhino, however only linework shows up. Is there a way import the 3D elements eg. walls, windows and doors into Rhino as well?

Cheers!

Ask Rhino Support while you wait https://www.rhino3d.com/support (looks like you may have done so).

Looks like the answer may be no: https://www.rhino3d.com/new/compatibility/

I do not use Rhino, so I am not certain this will work, but you could try exporting your AutoCAD Architecture file to AutoCAD from a 3D View.  That will explode all the AEC objects to AutoCAD objects (so do not use the same file name for the exported file), which may result in geometry that Rhino can see.

Excellent tip David! This worked for me and the AEC objects didn't become exploded once imported into Rhino, which was a bonus.

Thank you!
