Hi there
I have a big problem and I am hoping someone can help me.
I have a huge project going out and a weird thing happening.
I had an x-ref set up with all my electrical devices on it. I had to split it up, Power/telecommunications/lighting on the first x-ref and Fire Alarm and PA and Security were made into a separate x-ref.
In the original x-ref, I had created a block for a FA symbol containing an ellipse. When I split the x-ref's I erased, and purged all the FA/PA and Security symbols, inckuding the one with the ellipse.
Now when I print the Power/Telecommunications/Lighting drawings out on the plotter, they all contain the ellipse from the block that was totally deleted!!!!! GRRR
You cannot see the ellipse in the drawing, but it shows up in plot preview and is def there in the plot.
What can I do to get rid the ellipses!!!!
20 years experience, so I know a few tricks but this one might bury me.
I appreciate any help I can get and thank you in advance.

Post a zip file with the problem drawing and the problem xref (or at least the relevant problem parts).

HI
I ended up reinserting the what I think is the offending block, erased it and purged it (again!). As of this morning, it is not printing out. Hopefully it works.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi
I spoke too soon.
It has happened again.
I am sending the zip file as well as a pdf of the ellipses in print preview. That is the only place they show up.
Appreciate any light you can shed on the subject. Obviously my quick fix from earlier didn't work.
I am under the gun here - it has the potential to affect 35 drawings, going to tender next wednesday.
Thanks

Hey there.
Hate to necro this thread but I am having the same exact issue as the OP.
Did you ever figure out what was going on? No matter what I do, any and all ellipses will plot on any of my drawings - regardless if the layer is frozen or turned off.
Very confusing! If anyone know I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey all, hoping someone can help me!
So I have been having a weird issue with plotting some of my sheets to PDF all of a sudden. In the above image, you can see what I am talking about.
For some reason all the sheets I plot will print out small little ellipses in the PDF regardless if the layer they are on are hidden or frozen. It will appear in every sheet that the ellipse is in from the base plan. On the paper space, they don't show up at all, but when you plot to PDF (I have tried various different PDF Writers already) they all come up like that.
For example, I have some chair blocks that you can see and the blocks themselves have little ellipse edges on them and they will appear throughout the entire drawing even if the layer they are on are frozen. Similarly, the ellipse shapes on the trash container blocks will show up on each of the sheets as well. This is seemingly happening to every single one of my drawings and sheets. The link above is an image of what I am talking about. I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2017 by the way.
If anyone knows how to fix this, or if you have any idea what is causing this, I would really appreciate the help because I am losing hair over this! Thank you all for taking the time!

A solution was provided to me just in case anyone else comes up with this issue by a user named triangleman83 over on Reddit:
This was covered in Hotfix 1, but you should install all 3 Hotfixes while you're at it.
