Hello

So one of our useres keep getting the following fatal error:

" Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 1F80AC46h"

She only keep getting this when opening drawing allready startet on. (Her own drawings or otheres)

Starting from our empty template is working but failes as soon as she saves it, closes it and try to reopen.

When im trying to open the same drwaing i dont get the same error.

Have tryed the following:

- reinstaled all Autodesk products

- Updatet all driveres and Firmwire on the PC.

- Deleted the Cache folder for grapich

- Turnd off the signature part

Any other sugestions before i will try to do a formation of the PC?

We have 3 PC, all the same brand/hardware and they dont get the same error. (All instaled and setup at the same time)

So, after quit a few houers of troubleshooting i think we found what is caousing the error.

(Testeing most of options from the link and even formating the entire computer)

In the Options - Files - Templates Settings - Defiult Template File Name for QNEW (Se attached image)

we had linked to our own template. (The templat ein it self works fine)

After removing this link we do not get the same error, adding link back again and error comes back.

So now the question will be if anyone know why this is happening?

This should have been amongst the first things you checked, TBH. You could have discovered this just by resetting the current Acad profile, or running the "reset settings to default" application in the Start menu.

Only you know what's lurking in your in-house Template. If it's from an older release of Acad, I wouldn't touch it with a stick. The solution is to rebuild your Template starting with a current OOTB Template. Transfer settings slowly and test it until something breaks.

Hi

The weird part is that the template is working just fine as long as we open it manuly.

Only when the link is attached to the "Defiult Template File Name for QNEW" the error starts comming.

The template was just rebuildt for 2-3 months ago.

And opening old drwaings aswell works fin if the link is not there and error comes as soon as we add the link again.

(This is drawings where this template is used and drwaings with an older template.)

So becuse of this i dont understand that the template it self should be the problem.

Try relocating the DWT and re-path the location in Options?
Or specifying a different Template?
Run Acad as Admin?
Honestly just guessing at this point.
