Crazy Text Sizes in Program choices options

I have looked "everywhere" to fix this problem....

For example > Open up (Properties Tool Set > Go to (General Group) > Pick IE ( color, Linetype, thickness, etc)...

The text for "General Heading is (8X) the size of the "choice IE, Lineweight" which is (1X) in size, The note next to it (By Layer) is also (8X) > If I drag over the choices, Lineweight list comes in OK size (1X).

PS I only have AutoCAD Architecture 2017 to work with if that maters?

Thanks, Maka

Is this what you mean by Properties Tool Set?

As you can see, I am not having any text sizing irregularities there.  Here is the version I am running:

2025-05-10_20-54-04.PNG

AutoCAD Architecture 2017, SP1 built on AutoCAD 2017.1.2.  I am not certain if there were any service packs or updates for either AutoCAD Architecture or AutoCAD 2017 that were issued after those noted.  The 2017 products have been out of official support for some time now.

I am running 2017 on a machine running Windows 10, and viewing the program on monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080 and text scaling of 100%.  I do recall there being issues with text sizing of interface elements when running the program on high-resolution monitors back when those were becoming more common (particularly on laptop monitors).  I found this forum thread, where @pendean referenced two places to check for possible solutions:

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Odd-graphics-displ... (updated March 14, 2025)

https://danantonielli.com/adobe-app-scaling-on-high-dpi-displays-fix/

You may find those references useful. The 2017 version of AutoCAD Architecture was not designed for high-resolution screens.

Thanks for the direction!  I'll check out those links.  It might be the Hi Res 4K laptop causing the problems?  I tried running at lower resolutions monitor.  Thanks for the direction!  I'll check out those links.  It might be the Hi Res 4K laptop causing the problems?  I tried running at lower resolutions monitor,   But no luck so far.  hanks again, Maka

Thanks, I'll have to play around with it a bit... Mine "looks like that".... Except the Titles (General, 3Dvis..., Plot style test is about 600% larger?  Thanks for a direction I can go play with to possibly solve this problem!

I think You are onto something... But now everything is about double from a usable size.  And a few of the Display panes are on the bottom left, not moveable?

yes it is: your old software does that.

There was a 2017.1.1 fix that fixed the issue back in the day, but Autodesk does not host updates for your old version, you'll have to find it on other websites to try.

Otherwise....

I think I will look around and see if I can find Service pack 1.2 somewhere and see if that helps.  Thanks Again !!!

Thanks All for your help.  I got it in pretty good working order now, a little view scaling changes and the main thing that "fixed" everything was the advice to check the... Right Click on the ACAD Icon > Pick the Properties Tab > Pick the Compatibility Tab > Pick the Change high DPI tab > And check the High DPI scaling override box.  Everything looks and runs great!!!  I again thank you for your advice, i NEVER would have known about that solution !!!  Maka
