Automatically center multiple room tags

Hi community!

I am struggling with creating room tags for spaces existing on an X-REF, and putting them in their right position. So far I can use two varians of the tool "Room tag" under Annotate > Scheduling, both very time consuming, creating "Multi-view block reference" objects:

1. To create a room tag by clicking on it and then accepting the <Centered> condition by pressing "enter", which allows me to set one tag at a time, centered to its room. Then I shall continue with this method for every room I want to tag.

2. To create 1 room tag as described previously, and then to choose the [Multiple] option, selecting several rooms at a  time to create their correspondant tags, which automatically will end up in a corner. Then I need to move every individual tag to a more centered position (except for the first one created, which will automatically be centered to its room).

So, my question is if there is any way to create centered tags for multiple spaces? Or at least to center those tags afterwards.

Thanks in advance! You will help me saving hours per file if you have a solution

PS: I have already asked this topic on the AutoCAD MEP forum (since it is the version I need to use), but they recommended me to post it here instead.

Start the command to add your tag (however you normally do that).  Place one tag, using the Centered option...

Command: _AecScheduleTag
Unit-scaling inserted database...
Select object to tag:
Specify location of tag <Centered>:

...with the command still running, choose the Multiple option.

Select object to tag [Multiple]: m
Select objects to tag: Specify opposite corner: 38 found
13 were filtered out

Select your Spaces.  Do not worry about reselecting the first Space you tagged (or any other Spaces that are already tagged); if you do, you will get a prompt asking if you want to retag it.

The Multiple option will place the tags in the same way as you placed the first one, centered.

It seems as though you are doing that, so try again, but this time, before you start adding any tags, turn off running object snaps.  Perhaps that is what is throwing all of your tags in the corner of the Space.

...although oddly enough, testing it again, using an external reference, even with running object snaps turned on, I get centered tags (using AutoCAD Architecture 2020).  I would not expect AutoCAD MEP to behave differently, but I can try that, too....

Here is a quick video, done in AutoCAD MEP 2020, showing multiple Spaces in an external reference being tagged, with the tags centered on the Spaces.  At the end, you can see that there were running object snaps set, but those appear to have been ignored (a good thing).
