Autocad acting slow when editing text on a block in layout

Autocad is infuriatingly slow when trying to edit text on a block in layout.

Switching between layouts is slow and even printing from the application is slow. 

System is perfectly capable of handling the programme and the programme is up to date.

Can't work out why it's so slow.

Any advice?

do you have own fonts or standard autocad fonts?

How big is your dwg file?

You have updates to install for ACA2018: get them at the updates link from your Autodesk Account here https://manage.autodesk.com/

Fonts were never added to so I don't think there should be an issue there, but I'll take a look, thank you. 

The file is only 1.7mb.
