".NET 4.5 is not installed" error on AutoCAD install

Hi,

I am installing AutoCAD 2015 to a user's PC. I have not had this issue until now.

In the middle of the install I get the error message that says ".NET 4.5 is not installed. AutoCAD 2015 cannot be installed without this component. See your system administrator for more information."

I found some information on this online that talked about Windows 10 being incompatible with AutoCAD 2015, but this is Windows 7 on this PC.

I went to REGEDIT at this location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP

This shows 4.6 as the version of .NET

Any help would be appreciated. Screen shot attached.

If you read towards the bottom of that Win10 document, it also said:

"Note: the above mentioned steps can be used on Windows 7 and 8 systems to resolve the same issue with Autodesk 2015 products. "

This suggestion is not working for my application. It still will not allow the download of Inventor Professional 2015 because of 4.5 not being installed. I have followed the specific directions of resetting the net frame work to 4.5 then trying to install to no avail. Is there something else I might try. I am in the middle of something critical and cannot afford the delays. I have a brand new Dell that is clean as a whistle.

This solution worked for me. I'm not sure what else to try. I don't know if the experts have seen your post since this has already been solved. You may want to try and create a new post asking your question so that people see it, that is, if you are still having this issue.

You have to install .NET4.5 (this will require you to remove all the versions installed first most likely):

You have to , find a way, there is no option around it. Take your PC to a repair shop if you don't know how. It's a requirement.

Once complete, restart Windows, log in as full administrator in Windows and get your software this way https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Instal...

make sure your 2015 software is supported in Windows10 if that is what you have.

I am having the same issue.  This issue is occurring within the Window 7 - 64Bit operating system

Within the registry, this pathway does not exist

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP

Do you have another solution?

What operating system do you have, what Software and version do you want to install and what error message (exactly) do you get?

Hi.. i have a question , about this step

  --> Once finished, go back in to REGEDIT and change the .NET version back to what it was.

what can i do if i did not manage to change it back to what it was. how do i know the original value of the version before i change it.

You have the netframe 4.7 update, which is different.  You need to review this article by @natasha.l

Since you have netframe version 4.7 please review these articles.  You may want to review this article and use the netframe cleanup tool

The moment you want to edit the version number from may b 4.6.0079 to 4.5...message pop up telling you that; cannot edit the version.
