Simple Driver example code crashes

I am following this example code

Simple Driver 

I am build this on Ubuntu 18.04 with Arnold SDK 7.1.1.1

When kick finishes rendering the sample .ass file, it segmentation fault. I do see the image being rendered but would like to know the cause of the crash of if there is some inherent problem with the example code, the OS I am running or the GCC 7 compiler I am using.

@ashley.handscomb.retallack There's nothing in the simple driver example that needs to be changed for Arnold 7, right? At least not to compile it...
