How to make black area like in reality Explosion ??? Example this

https://vimeo.com/299284985

and this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ1PpM4DAGQ

In the first video, he use Mantra render with " (default emit ramp color + divergence *rate*some turbulence) * Fresnel(fitted) ". But in Arnold, fresnel is not working with Volumetrics VDB, this is an important omission. So please tell me the way. Thank you so much !

I am also contemplating the same problem. Did you solve it? If so, can you tell me how? I have a lot of concerns about Arnold shaders.

This is a question I posted on odforce. :

Thank you.

Those effects are achieved by mapping temperature with a custom emission ramp or with blackbody emission.

Here's a tutorial where Arvid maps it that way to create a realistic flamethrower with black smoke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm7q1i1-SZo
