I have a render with Camera DOF enabled. The issue I am having is with fireflies or artifacts in the render and not sure what is causing the issue. I am lighting my scene with a skydome_light with samples set to 3 and point_light with samples also set to 3. I read that Camera AA effects motion blur and DOF quality? I have turned Camera AA up to 10 and still have artifacts. Its mostly in the highlights and can easily be repaired in Photoshop but I really would like the renders as clean as possible to limit post production. I have attached images of my render settings and pictures of artifacts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Solved! Go to Solution.
You could try increasing Camera (AA) samples or using Adaptive Samling. You could try adjusting the standard_surface.specular_roughness too. There is also Clamping and denoising.
I have been getting very clean results with only 8 Camera (AA) samples using the OIDN denoiser imager here with scenes that have heavy DOF.
Thanks, your renders look really good.
@lee_griggs Do you know of any good tutorials showing how to use OIDN denoiser? Im guessing doing this will improve render times versus turning up Camera AA?
Here and in the docs:

Thanks so much for your help.
Lee just wanted to say thank you again for sharing. Using this noise reduction is amazing and such a time saver.
Glad to hear it!
