I've spent 3-4 hours trying to get my perpetual version of C4DtoA to see its license. I'm currently stuck where the Arnold License Manager says "No license available."
I have the Autodesk NLM running successfully on my old Mac Pro, but I'm retiring that system for a new Mac Studio.
As Autodesk has stopped offering maintenance renewals I'm running the last version of C4DtoA I could get before my old plan expired (3.1.1.1). I'll consider starting a regular subscription if/when an Apple Silicon-native version of C4DtoA is released.
I've tried installing and configuring the NLM on the new Mac Studio, but I'm nowhere near getting it to work as the Mac version of those tools requires me to poke around in Terminal, which I do only when there are no other ways to accomplish something.
As I'm doing all of my Arnold work on a PC I opted to install the NLM on that system.
I downloaded and installed NLM for Windows.
I used LMTOOLS to determine the Computer/Hostname and MAC (Ethernet) address for my PC.
I configured the license file for my Arnold license with the data from above and saved it into the Network License Manager folder.
I meticulously followed the steps on this webpage to configure the server: Configure & Start Autodesk License Server | Administrator Installation
When I click the Start Server button in LMTOOLS it says "Server Start Successful."
When I run the Server Status I get this:
--------
Status
--------
Flexible License Manager status on Wed 5/4/2022 19:32
[Detecting lmgrd processes...]
License server status: 27000@HP-Z640
License file(s) on HP-Z640: C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\HP-Z640XXXXXXXXXXXX.lic:
HP-Z640: license server UP (MASTER) v11.18.0
Vendor daemon status (on HP-Z640):
adskflex: UP v11.18.0
Feature usage info:
Users of 87616ARNOL_2022_0F: (Total of 1 license issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)
But when I run the Arnold License Manager it says No license available (screenshot attached).
In all of the instructions I've referred to above there's no mention of adskflex. I don't know what that is, what it does, nor whether I need it. The Arnold License Manager shows an alert saying "Server list is currently overridden by the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable. Please edit the environment variable if you want to make changes." I did that. It was initially set to the dynamic IP of the MacPro (@10.0.1.116). I found two versions of it (user and system) in the PC's System Properties and changed both to the dynamic IP of the HP PC (@10.0.1.124).
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. I can post the debug log if that would be helpful.
Thank you.

Hi Shawn
You have an Arnold 2022 license but you're running an Arnold 2020 version of C4DtoA.
You can run only Arnold 2022 versions of C4DtoA, and those are C4DtoA 4.0.x and C4DtoA 4.1.x
That's what I see from the screenshot and the license status.
You have a permanent license right, and it's what you got after you let the maintenance expire?
Thanks for the reply. Your observation that the license I generated yesterday was not compatible with the 3.1.1.1 version of C4DtoA I was trying to run (in R23) seems to have been the issue.
I had downloaded multiple versions of the C4DtoA 4.0.2 installer before my maintenance term ended on December 31. Installing 4.0.2 into R25 on the PC seems to be working with the NLM I've set up on the PC and the newly-generated license.
Now I have to figure out all of the interface and library changes in R25.
Cheers.
