This too is seemingly an issue with the latest maxToA - when AOV output is turned on, Arnold randomly just won't write the EXR output - this is with 3dsmax 2024 + latest maxToA during a single frame render.
Can you turn on Info-level logging and see what's logged for one of those renders?
Tricky to find as it's random, not scene related. Will try to keep an eye on it.
