Setting up menus for the first time is a nightmare -even if you have decades of experience on Alias, as I do. It took me a full day to setup from scratch with the new interface.
In setting up short menus, I basically relegate any/all menu picks/icons that exist in my marking menus, puck or custom menus to the short menu list to avoid duplication of icons -which simplifies the short menu to its smallest size and for less frequent use item. It would be extremely useful to have a Auto-create button that would do this in one click. In other words, if you click this dedicated button, it would create your short menus for you based on what you have in your quick access menus, such as marking menus and puck menu. Perhaps the button would exist as a sub-pick in Menu > Preferences > Short Menus >Auto create -Think about it!
