Create point from pivot
I think the only way to do this now is by copying the Pivot Info manually from the Information Window. I regularly want to identify an object's pivot and use that to create a vector or rotate another object. Would be handy. Thanks.
Hi Noah, if you turn on the snap to pivot option in the curve snap options, you can easily snap a curve, and therefore a vector to the pivot of another object, Regards Brian.
With snap to pivot on, I'm able to snap to the pivot of a curve or surface, but can't figure out how to snap to an Object's pivot.
Say I have a cube where the faces' pivots are different from the cube's (object) pivot. If I drag a curve to the edge of the cube (Ctrl+Alt) a face's pivot appears and I'm able to snap to it, but I can't manage to snap to the cube's pivot. Is this possible?
Yes you have a good point there, probably a good one to elevate to someone at Autodesk, I can think of work-arounds, but none that would be quicker than typing in the objects pivot point .....anyone at Autodesk want to comment, as this would be a useful ability?
