When a create a SubD cylinder, Vertices and edges are not visible or not being created along with it. This makes me unable to manipulate the shape. Is there a setting where you can toggle on/off the vertices and edges or is this some other error, Please help.

Hi @Anonymous,
to see the vertices and edges you need to select the subdiv object and turn on the CV/Hull in the Control Panel.
Make sure your object is not toggled.
To toggle your model or turn the cv/hull on you can also use the marking menu through cntrl+shift+rmb.

I created a custom Subdiv shelf/preset you can try.
You can import it through the Menu> Preferences> User Preferences Set option box> Make sure the options are check-marked.

Turn CV on/off is mapped to a hotkey L / O
