Hi,
I cannot open Alias Studio on my late 2013 iMac with High Sierra. When I open the app, the system freeze, then it log off by itself and it send me back to my log in screen.
Unfortunately I can't make a screenshot because the system is not responsive. The best I could was to make a photo with my phone.
I have something like this before the system log off.

open a terminal window and copy and paste this line into it...
cp ~/Desktop/AliasPrefs.scm /Applications/Autodesk/AliasDesign2018/AliasDesign.app/Contents/Resources/Comlib
As you are using Alias Design I've changed the path.
I think you mean this:
cp ~/Desktop/AliasPrefs.scm /Applications/Autodesk/AliasDesign2018/AliasDesign.app/Contents/Resources/Comlib/
with the slash at the end, since your command would fail since it's trying to write a file over a folder. Either way, the fix doesn't work for me when I make sure that AliasPrefs.scm doesn't have startup movies enabled and I've made an empty file for the other file you mentioned
Just installed 10.13.2 with OSX native drivers (I'm waiting for nvidia web ones). Same problem as before :(.
We have just released 2018 Update 4 which has a work around in it for the Mac hang. Please give it a try and post your results.

Note: It didn't work until I switch back to the Mac OSX default driver from NVIDIA's web driver.
I'm running the student version of 2018. Do you need to download the entire program, or is there an update only download?

Alias2018.4 was released on Dec 20th and it has fix for the issue below.

For me it works with both drivers. I have 10.13.2 with 378.10.10.10.25.102 and it works flawless.
Updated to 2018.5 now with my MacBook Pro (15-inch 2017) Radeon Pro 560 with High Sierra 10.13.3.
Still crashes for me after choosing any of Default, Modeling, Paint. It shows this error:
What could be wrong?
(At the choosing page it still says "evaluating license" in the left lower corner
I also tried switching user account as this page says: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/alias-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...
Does not work either 😞
