Trim not working for me

Started Alias newly. And this feels very noob-ish but I can't trim certain part of the surface for some reason.

I cant' trim the outer parts that I have marked

This looks simple so I used intersection to trim and discard the outer surface but the result is just giving me curves on surface. I have extended the surface in case the Intersecting Vertical surfaces were not going all the way through but that didn't work.I can trim the inner portion thats marked.

But Trimming the inner section works. So how can I trim the outer portion? 😶

I think I figured out something. Is it because of the Symmetrical Modelling, the trimming is not being apparent?
