How to save different file formats - Alias Auto Studio

Hi Pros,

New to Alias here.

In my last post 'Flat Layout from Surfaces' - member; aqhead suggested that I use Pepakura ( at my own risk of course! ) in order to 'unwrap' ( make flat layout ) of 3d forms made in Alias.

Pepakura only works with certain file formats:

Thus far I can only save Alias files in wire format. How can I save an Alias file so that Pepakura can use it?

Thank you.

OK. My apologies if this was a dumb question - but the only options I get when hit - Save As / or / Export - Active As are the two you can see below:

I'm running Alias S in Window 7 - using Fusion ( seamless ) on a Macbook Pro.

For the option; All files - can I simply type in the desired extension? dxf, iges etc? Or how can I save various file formats please?

Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hey Seng

Alias provide most of all file output.

So here it is how to save in extra formats. for Pepakura I would recomend you to work with .OBJ.

no problem...

these little corner symbols are tool options, like this square, yellow arrows and so on. just explore.

Have you manage to use Pepakura?
