I would like to put individual tools in certain locations on my shelf. However upon loading Alias, all idividual tools revert to the default of the "stack." For example when I save my preference profile with a trim tool switched to untrim, the tool returns to trim upon loading Alias up. Is there away to stop Alias from doing this? Thanks!

I tested this in Alias 2024.1 and was able to reproduce your described behavior.
This request is fixed in Alias 2025.0 Do you have a chance to install that version?
If not you could drag the tools without the Pullouts on the shelf. To do so: Open the Pullout and drag the specific tool with the MMB on the shelf.
