Autodesk Alias Surface wont display save as dialog

Autodesk will not open the save as dialog, or any other windows dialog.
I have read about the filedia variable, but I cant seem to find the option in Alias.

Can someone point me to where its hidden? or a solution?

I don't believe the filedia variable effects file dialogs in Alias.  You can certainly try to set the registry entry.

When you select Save As does nothing happen or does Aias Hang.

Nothing happens, alias continues to work just as before.
We have used checkpoints, wich save without opening a Dialog to at least continue to work.

It sems to be stuck to a specific user, and not bound to the Workstation she uses.

I will try the registry.

Assuming she is on Windows she should remove this file

%%APPDATA%\Autodesk\Alias\UserPrefs[VERSION]\.AliasBrowserPrefs

Sadly did not resolve the Problem.
We are most likely going to wipe the computer right now.

Did you try removing the preferences first?

We deleted the user Profile, we reinstalled Alias, hence deleting the preferences as well. A different Pc will work, but the problem traveled with the user if she logs on.

I am kind of out of ideas here.

Im having the same behavior in Alias Surface and Autostudio; (my employer has both). I’m here because I’ve managed my own machines before with Alias & Windows. The on-site IT support staff would not know what to ask in this case.
