Alias Graphical Error

I've seen this error with the last few versions.  I'm not sure what causes it.  I'm using the latest nvidia drivers.

Restarting Alias will make it go away for a while.

Has anyone else seen this?

Hi,
Could you please let us know which graphic card you are using? We saw issues like this in the past, and they seemed to be graphic card related.
Also, do you have *any* docked windows (pallette, shelves, control panel), or are they all floating? In case they are floating, does docking one of those remove this effect?
Thanks,
GG

Hi Michael,

I'm using a GeForce RTX 2070 Super.

I will try docking my windows, currently they are all floating.

Thanks

Thanks, just let us know in case the problem should persist even after docking.

  • I tried docking the Diagnostic Shading panel, and Pallet.
  • I also tried switching Alias to the Classic workspace.

None of these resolved the graphic error unfortunately.

Okay, thanks for checking. It's a bit unfortunate that you have a non-certified graphics card, but as we already have at least one more mention on a similar issue, this might not be the root cause.
Do you always see these effects, or only after certain situations (e.g. exiting full screen mode)? Do you have a stable way to reproduce this effect (or does it always occur)?
Do you have an older version of Alias on your machine, where this issue does not occur?

Hi Michael,

I haven't been able to determine what triggers this error.  I've seen it on other people's machines as well.

If I can ever find a dependable way to reproduce the error, I'll post it here.

@dangertaz1 , just two more questions:
1. Is this new, or did you see the same issue on the same machine with an older Alias version?
2. Are you using more than one monitor?
Thanks,
GG

1) I have seen this issue with older versions on different machines.

2) Yes I am using two monitors.  The other time I saw this issue, it was on a laptop hooked up to an external monitor.

I have encountered this too. I'm using a Dell T3610 with a K4000 card and multiple monitors. I fix the problem by going into Fullscreen and then back out again. The artefacts are normally disappear. Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Sorry for the late reply, I was on Christmas vacation. Thanks for your additional information, I have added it to the issue. With this information, I asked my QA team to have another look.
