Hi Udo,

These are the same lines that you put in archives, I do not mean to be pain in the neck,

but for your side to pretend this is not important and it has been seen before and to discard it is a wrong move.

You can make 100's of make up 'improvements', but to leave Advance lacking the first few items is not the right way to go.

I have been discussing with colleagues these for years now, and people are making fun of Advance for the first few items on the list.

You tried to make something about the dimensions being messed-up during detail update-it is not working. As other users said-please roll back to 2010 version - it may look better.

What we are asking is-please do not put in archives and forget about them. 

1. Once dimensions have been adjusted - block dimension updates during dwg update, and if a dimension needs to be changed-either make it Red or  Cloud it, we will move points or delete points as necessary manually.
   This has to be an option, and it has to be in detail view dialog window. Not in MT. User will make decision whatever dimensions to be updated manually or automatically depending on the project. Option 'Force dimensions update' in detail view in case we need to update dimensions using default dimension requests, this is less possible, but there is a chance to need this option-from detail view, not in MT.
2. Once labels are moved or deleted-do not update / move them, make them red or cloud them, we will update or move manually if it is necessary, this has to be an option in detail view and let user decide which way to go.
3. Prevent compass mark to move or appear during detail update if it is moved or deleted-an option to be included similar to 1 and 2 lines
4. Prevent detail cut view title form moving during detail update
5. Make depth of view available again in detail dwgs creation, new 2017.1 dialog is terrible

 6.  Make batch plot to a selected destination folder from DM

 7. Make possible revving down or editing revision for all dwgs, not one by one

 8. Make option to output SELECTED external lists only, to be printed as PDF files, as separate files, having the name of the list. Selection to be kept and to be ready for the next revision if necessary. 

 9. Balloon Detail view of a part of a detail view similar to AutoCAD Mechanical

10. Anchor bolts-please see previous posts-need total improvement.

11.Prevent labels for beams in GA dwgs to jump over adjacent beams

12. Fix the bug not showing leader in manually placed labels-for example-MP plate, MP Beam even when setup is made leaders to be shown.

13.Option to send section view to a new or already created dwg

Omnibus wishes like this aren't very helpful.  Its hard for the idea curators to judge whether somebody wants all of them, or just some.  Discussions about the various points get tangled up as well.

Please post individual ideas, with meaningful titles, so they can be properly discussed and voted on.

Please consider those ideas. They are all good points. This could make AS way better. Definitely going to help every user.

arkili2009-Thank you, you are probably a real user. not an amateur.

dgorsman-Sorry to say this, but if you use this software to get dead lines on a daily basis-you may think about getting on one of those buses,

I am not asking for likes, I do not care about likes, what I care is to get the attention of the some known heads to test the software for real

and to make the wise decision to make the dwgs stable.

I have done so far more than 1,000-1,100 projects both as production manager and as detailer, and what I can tell is the few lines I have listed

plus the 'Stop Moving / Updating Cut Views in details when other cut views are updated from same detail' Post-if they improve them, Advance Steel will be at a new level.

'Omnibus talk'-save this to yourself. And I am trying to be nice.

 All of the lines were previously posted with screen shots attached, just nothing was done to get them implemented. 

At least the 4 major issues-updating dimensions, moving labels, detail views, compass marks-you do not have to be a BIG AUTODESK EXPERT to see there is a problem.

I would appreciate if the EXPERT riding the omnibus leaves this idea post.

Thank you acbsdesign for persisting with the points regarding the update feature. These are EXTREMELY important and should be should be at the top of the priority list! I believe the update feature is by far the week point of Advance Steel. I waste many hours every week because of these bugs / design faults in Advance Steel. I am sick of clients contacting me about missing dimensions and disarranged views on a drawing which I know where correct when I adjusted the drawing! I try to got back through every drawing after an update but it is easy to miss a small change. It is unbelievable that the software can make a change to a drawing without specifically pointing it out to the drafter!!!

I am sick and tired of 'EXPERTS' like the one above saying these are omnibus wishes putting the most important issues unfixed.

I will get online Mr. Carl Bass after the Autodesk University is over.

I will explain what the issues are, I will make presentation and I have also kept all screen shots of the ugly things Advance does.

Usually when I get into something it gets resolved-hopefully we will get this done.

If you or your colleagues are already in touch with Mr. Carl Bass-please advise.

But I personally do not see any other way to get this done.

Hi,
I have changed the status to implemented, since most of the issues have been fixed. It's just a problem if multiple issues are in one "idea" to track each one down.

If there is anything still "open", we should create a separate "idea".
