Improving the output of twisted folded plates

Improving the output of twisted folded plates

Improve the modelling interface and accuracy of unfolding twisted folded plates. At the present time we are having issues with being able to accurately model twisted folded plates due to the limitations in the advance steel dialog box. Unfolding the plates in the model does not match what is output in the DXF, we have to do a lot of manual work tidying up the DXF for fabrication.

And please don't treat folded/twisted plates as a rare application. You have provided this functionality. It is very widely and often used. And, it should work properly...

In addition, the DXF output sometimes does not export these plates at all!

It would be nice if the system just worked....

100% agree. Twisted Plates with holes and or contour cuts do not function correctly, or export to DXF.

in general I agree with the idea.

By having a look in the pics, I just wanted to say: you create folded plates with foldangle of 0° (<1°). I think this is setted to get a nice round look. So for your situation you set many foldings for a nice round look and Advance Steel yould just use a triangulation and so we have many folded lines ending up in one point without really moved plates.
For this situation we would need "rolled plates" ( I think there's not only one idea for this).
Nevertheless the folded plates should work correct if the option is existing
