Please prevent movement of weld symbols during detail update

Hi Devs, Please prevent movement of weld symbols during detail update. They move even if no changes are done in regard to particular welded parts.

maybe we need to place some stronger magnets on the displays ... one for all, all for one

Dumitru-please put yourself in our shoes, where every second is measured.

This is just ridiculous.

I am not paying next year if this is not fixed.

I like the stronger magnets concepts.... will they work on the new OLED monitors?  I am still surprised someone got the welding symbol to work.

I would like to see an action plan from the developers on how they intend to address the detailing issues.

The "Force update" and "Update Detail" buttons always cost us so much time/money even if there are no physical or significant changes to the 2D picture. A minor update that should take 5-10 minutes tends to take at least two to three hours.

@Austruct are you referring to the Weld Symbol or just the general headaches created by objects having a mind of their own?

@Austruct

First-thank you for taking the time and supporting what was written, some even don't bother sending a message of approval, despite showing some interest.

This is why some ancient bugs are still present, because of "there are not enough votes" (by the product manager some generations ago), or "this is offered by vertical developers" and "I don't really care about steel detailing because I know nothing about it", or "I even don't know how to use a software that I manage"   (by a recent generation product manager).

Do I really have to explain here that this is what turns some less patient users away?

It is so simple, so basic.

Reported with example files how erection drawings trigger an update if we change bottom of a column that is not part of a framing plan, but it triggered an update, answer was, that this is because the system line of the column was modified - a point that has nothing to do with this framing plan.

"Small" things that they absolutely don't care about are taking from us every single day.

The detail title moves back during detail update if manually dragged to a new location.

Weld symbols move during detail update.

If we force an update within an opened drawing some dimensions are still moving (not always, but still present).

@DumitruBerteanu

I apologize if we are asking too much, but this is basics.

We are not supposed to deal with these in 2022.

Using the default AS weld symbols for structural steel for buildings only.

Default AS weld symbols do not meet the AWS requirements, so whoever insists we can use them all the time is just full BS.

Bridge detailing requires weld symbols to be per AWS D1.5.

No amateur should insist on the opposite.

The reason I try use them for structural steel only is if I  get connections calc's revised, dwgs would be updated faster, but if symbols move all the time, this is questionable.

The other advantage is when using them in connection properties, we can perform checking of weld size against connection number in Beam Section and in Column Section and end plates details.

And yes-whoever amateur does not like "typical weld details" on GN1, let them stay amateurs.

This is the fastest, most cost-effective, and best way to show typical repetitive weld details.

A simple change will require issue of GN1 only.

Shop always keeps GN1 open.

And drawings are much cleaner and require less repositioning.

And another reason why I prefer the typical weld details-Not all AS intelligent connections are perfectly done with all possible weld combinations.

Here is one example:

The Tale of the symbol in red does not meet AWS standards.

I am positively sure if I have to use AS default  weld symbol for TC-U4a-GF would not look any closer than the symbol above.

Here is what dev's invented-red vs white:

I don't know a single person who would prefer the symbol in red vs the symbol in white.

Or may be I don't know enough.
