Automatic folders for detail drawings

Automatic folders for detail drawings

Sorry this is a bit longwinded, but I ned to explain a few things before my actual request, so bear with me :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

I work in different ways depending on client wishes or the nature of the project, but generally if numbers are NOT shared between LOTs (i.e. consider LOT for numbering), I will create a sub folder under the "Details" forlder for each LOT.  e.g. LOT1, LOT2 etc so it is easy to identify the drawings for a particular lot.

I achieve this by moving them after creating the details for each lot and re-registering the details.  This works well.

However it would be nice to automate this.

It is partially possible by editing the Drawing Process Filename Selector and using the LOT token as part of the file path.

This works well too, but on some projects if there is much repetition between LOTs I want to share the same part numbers between lots (i.e. not consider LOT for numbering) and then use another field such as a User Attribute to split into Phases and then consider this for numbering instead of the Lot.

In this case I would then want to use this UserAttribute token (which could be any of UserAttributes 1-10) as part of my process file path but the tokens available in the dropdown list (in the Drawing Process Filename Selector) are limited and any manually entered tokens do not work.

See attached screenshot example.

....so my request is to have ALL relevant tokens available for use in Drawing Process Filename Selector to facilitate automatic creattion of sub folders for details.

This would also be a good workaround for some of the difficulties we are finding in processing individual areas in the way they were issued. At the moment, document manager makes this task very labour intensive...

Dear Advance Steel Dev Team,

it could be a great help for users the option to have some sub folders in the details Standard folder. Just like the picture below:

This kind of organization can be usefull also in document manager. It could be a good thing to have separated in sub folders Single Parts, Assembly and Cameras, to avoid an incredibly long detail list:

Hi Stefano,

Hope this gets put into a future updated release soon.

If this is being considered can we have a separate sub folder for Cold Rolled members & fittings also?

Regards

Geoff

The document/folder management needs work to assist users with everyday processes. Would prefer to see flexibility in the folder structure (maybe process driven?).

Dear Experts,

We are also struggling to automate many values in the drawings and documents anyhow

(I don't know it is relevant to ask here or not) But

Is there any way to call particular (customized/inbuilt) Tokens value /Attributes value from any other text file in the Model folder of Advance Steel? That could help us at least
