The mechanical department of our office created a 3d model by using Plant 3D, it was constructed by using a series of blocks. When I xref it into my model that I created in Advance Steel I can view it not a problem, when I then create the 2D drawings through quick documents, all the mechanical model disappears. I've tried xrefing as both an attachment and overlay and either way it doesn't work. I've tried binding it, won't work. It's not till I explode everything within the mechanical xref that it will appear in the final 2D drawings. What are we doing wrong? Thanks

Not sure what you're doing wrong, but this is what I have just done.
(This is on a new machine with a clean install of Plant Suite 2016 and AS 2016)
Created the Plant Project
Have the AS file inside the Plant Project
XREF AS into Plant - works fine
XREF Plant models (Equipment and Piping) and AS see's them in GA type drawings, as shown

Hello RonFood.
Please try to install the P3D object Enabler if you do not have P3D and AS on the same workstation.
