Can someone show me how to place a detail view from one drawing to another. Example: have an assembly open and cut a view and have a separate detail page

If both files are copy you can drag and drop between the files, tile them side by side,

you can copy also from one to the other.

in the document manager you can. Also move the views from one file to another.

but I would say they need to be from the same assembly.

Hi,

You can't have a section or detail view on a different sheet from the parent view. You will need to create the detail or cut view then copy the entire drawing. Arrange the views on each drawing so that only the views you want are within the border and only print within the border. There will be no intelligent link between the drawings so if you change the detail view in one the other will need identical modifications made manually.  Not generally a good idea and a lot of work.

For GA drawings use separate cameras to create the detail or section view and do not use the Create Cut View or Create Detail View commands. Then you CAN put the new camera view on any sheet you like.
