usingAdv Steel for application with different grades

I have been tasked by my company to see if we can use Advanced Steel.  We are not building buildings but doing structural steel frames without having a level grade.  Has anyone else used it for anything similar?  I am having trouble making the purlins fit my unlevel top beams.

Ive run a couple of tests and the purlin macro doesnt seem to take into account the difference in levels, there are some things that can be done, it would be helpful if you could upload your model or give us an idea of what your structure is and what sort of level differences you have

1. You could model your purlins with the ourlin macro then delete the macro box and rotate to correct angle

2. You could set your UCS to the slope and model in the purlins manually then use Transform elements or just a copy to give the spacings you need.

I'll try your suggestions.

I'm also wondering about both purlin and bolt spacing.  

I need to be able to change the bolt pattern as shown in my attached screen snip but cannot see a way to do it.

Would be a case of deleting the macro box also?

The purlin problem is very similar.

Hi @Anonymous 

If you use the moment end plate you can set the centres of the 2 bolts in the middle then have outside bolts at different centres, you can also get the stiffeners as you require (im based in the UK so work in the GBR build which is in mm)

If you are new to Advance Steel and your company are looking at it as a solution I would try and find a reseller to do a demonstration to you guys they will be able to show you what can be done etc
