Special Parts and Symbols Library in Advance Steel

Hello,

Just spent a decent amount of time converting manufacturer's dwg files to special parts so they can be inserted in the model.

Special parts such as base flanges for railings posts, wall brackets for handrails, Speedrail (R) parts, special bolts, nuts and washers, flanges for pipes, U-Bolts, anything that may come across-please share it here.

The attached file is in Imperial units,

Here's a few I use often from RB Wagner.

Splice-Lock for 1.5"STD (SCH40) PIPE

Custom connection right and left, it will create hole in pipe and add the splice-lock.

Have you tried fusion are any similar elements available in https://www.mcmaster.com/.

These are available to insert into fusuion and could be exported and then imported as special parts.

Yes, I take parts from McMaster very often.

Manufacturers (most of them) did not bother creating 3D model of the parts.

Wagner #3418 2 1/2" CL Wall Bracket

May need a couple of little "fine-tuning" tweaks, but is modeled to the Wagner dimensions. It is also the same as the 1251R bracket, except the 1251R has two holes for screw attachment to the pipe. So a simple copy and rename will give you the 1251R bracket as well.

Here's one I create in fusion couple years ago, a grating clips, someone just asked me for it so maybe its helpful to someone.

Both files are same item just different versions of Autocad (as 2013 was requested.)

No sir, not aware of any.

This is why I decided to start this thread here, after spending 10-15 minutes on a more complicated special part, it is a non-sense to keep such things for one user only, it is a much better way if can be shared between users.

Was able to download direct from Mcmaster

xxx.step files, explode to 3d solid, and save the special part.

I wish wagner had 3d files of their rail components.  cp
