How can I make new labels i insert manually match the labels automatically created with a process?
See image: the manual label has a frame, the process label does not. I know I can edit but there must be a way to change the defaults.

When you click on the "Insert Label" tool, before selecting an object, enter the "c" option to open the "Edit label content definition" dialogue box. This is where you configure the content and appearance of your manually inserted labels. To change the Advance Steel default settings you must first set the "user" folder as the current profile. To do this left click on the user folder and select "set as current profile". The "User" folder name will go bold to indicate it is now current.
Under "Object Label" in the user folder you then pick the relevant object of which you would like to configure the label. Eg Beams. In the Beams you get three options of labels. "Any" which is good if the beam is a stand alone part, "Main Part" which is good if you are labeling the main part of an assembly (Eg GA drawing) or "Add Part" if you are labeling a part of an assembly which is not the main part ( Eg additional part like a plate attached to a beam in an assembly drawing). In each of these you get to configure the content and appearance of the label. I had to play around with this a bit to work out all the different options but you will be able to get what you want. Good luck.

I'm having an issue where I am unable to apply changes to the User category of labels. I change the label content definition (from the drop-down) to my pre-defined label but it reverts back to the original label content definition when I open a new drawing/new session of AS. Very annoying, anyone know how to make the changes permanent? Thanks!

@abeeler , you can change it permanently in the 2D drawings, as others have described, by typing "c" and modifying it there. But if it isn't working there you can permanently change it through:

Hello,
I am trying to insert manual labels for anchor bolts so I set my changes as mentioned above, unfortunately, whenever I want to insert the label there is no response to the command although I selected the anchor but it was not labelled. Pls can anyone explain what is happening and how can I solve it ??
FOR ATTENTION,
I made my preferred changes for plates, bolts and beams and everything went right except anchors it is not respond to the command. Moreover, my labeling strategy setting regarding to anchors also don't assign when I generate drawings 🤷:male_sign:.

this is maybe a problem of the token you will use.
For example if you decide to output the diameter and the material but this tokens are not "transmitted" from the model, the label would be "empty" and so it will not be created. You could set the token which are transmitted from the model in the management tools in the default ("token that will always come from the model").
Or you could change it directly on the detail by using the command: Label Content manager. After using it, click on the detail, then select Anchor and tick the boxes for the token you need.

Hi, could you explain where I can find "token that will always come from the model" in the management tools? - I have Polish version and can't find it. The other way doesn't work for me, cause I need a label on assemply drawing where Label Content Manager is not working.

why should the label content manager not work on assembly details?
If you use this command and the dialogue is not open, there's a text in the command line "all variables are already existing" so you should have the option to see all token.
So maybe you have another problem
The default is in the category drawing labeling --> General: "token that will always come from the model

As you said label content manager is not opening ant there is the text "all variables are already existing" - print screen attached. But I don't know where is the option to see all tokens.
There is nothing even close to "token that will always come from the model"..
EDIT: I've found this option, but what should I add there? I have:
%PosNum%SinglePartPosNum%MainPartPosNum%Assembly%Position
Nothing happens when I want to insert label for an anchors.

Is there an option like a "Match property" to match and copy the appearance from other labels in the drawing?
