How to add a note to the detail?

Hi,

I would like to add a note/text to the particulat detail - how can I do it? I tried to cheat a bit and give a label to one of the elements on the drawing, replace it with my own text and turn off the lines, but usually it dissapears after update or relocate so its useless. How then add a note that will be a part of a detail?

Is there a reason Multiline Text would be inadequate?

not exactly, because in case of moving that detail (it happens after updating the drawing or when I just want to change its position) there is a high chance that I forget to select that text or the detail will move automatically leaving the text. Moreover when I use Multiline text i can't check what detail it belongs to.

In your drawing style DETAIL TITLE, you can choose the token OTHERS which will show a user entered notation from the camera description.

TOKEN NOTE.PNG

TOKEN NOTE BEAM COL.PNG

You can even have the camera node locations labeled in your G/A drawings as well.BEAM TO COLUMN.PNG

wslomiany, thanks for your answer.

I know that option and it's not what I was looking for. I would like to add an extra note to the detail despite it's description.

Look at the screenshot below and yellow text:

This is just an example not the real situation, but I think you get the point. I made that yellow text with Autocad tool but in cases i described in previous post, it is quite inconvenient solution.

Best regards

Robert

Did yo find a solution for this? is there a way to attached the multiline text to  a view?

A workaround is to add a label to a detail but change the text of that label to say what you need said.  It would be attached to the detail and move with it.  Not the most elegant solution, but should work.

I do it in 3 ways depending on the nature of the note:

   1. General note (identical on multiple sheets): XREF-ed on prototypes

   2. Dependent on the assembly (as in the example above regarding the weld thickness): User attributte token in Drawing Style Detail title for main part

   3. When creating GA drawings (using Camera): Labeling Strategy that includes the appropriate User Attribute

@vuk.vukanic, I'm doing a similar workaround.  I reserved one of "user attributes" token for that kind of notes. It would be a perfect solution if it was possible to set 2 labels to one element. Unfortunately it's not, so I have to add these "user attribute" labels manually in the drawing. At least it doesn't disappear after update 🙂

Best Regards

Robert

I don't do any manual labeling in the drawings, so I might be able to help if you elaborate on why would allowing 2 labels per object help.

You could add a very small object like a special part and use an extra label strategy for this, by using the free remark entry an then add a special role in your detail style.

Another idea: a weld from type dummy without leaderline the additional information
