Grating profile not showing up in Elevation view

I am using Advance Steel 2020. Screen Shots attached.

I am hoping someone can help me update an existing view on a drawing to include the profile of the grating. I am using a Camera with a Type: Overview, Style: 3 – Elevation View – Full. I have gone into the Drawing Style manager and changed the Mp – Grating object presentation settings to where I assume it would include the grating. I select Apply and then ok, but the view does not update or include the grating. What am I missing? Is it not possible to update an existing view? Thanks for any help.

Hi @advandes,

Thank you for posting on Advance Steel forum 🙂

Once a detail drawing is generated, the used Drawing Style (DS) is saved inside the drawing.

Any further modification in the Drawing Style Manager (DSM) will not affect the existing details. This is intended behavior.

If you want to update the detail to use a new (or modified) drawing style, you could use one of the following options:

1. Open the detail drawing.

Open DSM, select the new / modified DS and press "Use".

Then select the existing detail drawing:

--> the detail drawing will be generated again using the selected DS

2. Alternatively, you could delete the detail drawing and generate a new one, using the new / modified DS.

Please let me know if this answers to your question 🙂

Best regards,
Emy

Just so anyone reading this post and needing a solution, I used option 1 that Emanuel described. I was not aware of this procedure and found his explanation exactly what I needed.

I would like to know how to get nice grating hatch like in your pic. Everytime we use grating hatch or 90% other hatches our drawing show solid black and when we try to manually correct it 7 times out of 10 AS crashes. I have gone so far as to tape a note on my monitor saying "save b4 hatch!"

I also am having this issue. I made the grating 'visible/hidden' in the DSM for my style, but I still do not get grating in my views, even if I create new.
