External BOM Unit Precision Settings

Is there a way to modify unit precision settings (I want to switch from architectural to fractional) in an external BOM?

I was able to find the method for making changes to the on drawing BOM templates, but can't seem to be able to figure out how to do this for external BOM's.  I somehow need to access unit precision settings for the token "length" if there is such a thing.
