Drawing Template not Saving Setting

Advance Steel 2025

This is a minor issue but really annoying. I save my Template with the three pallets shown in the top right corner of the work space with the Drawing Processes saved with User, but ever time I open a new file with my template, the Default Drawing Processed shows up. See screen capture. Any help with this is appreciated.

Go into the process manager, standard, drawing processes and untick everything from each one and apply.

Close the pallet and restart AS.

Hi,

@mick-CNF answer will stop the palette switching back to Advance for new drawings or sessions. The template file has nothing to do with the position of palettes or which palettes are open etc. This is all stored in the ASSettings_User.xml file in the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Advance Steel 2024\GBR path (sub your version and country folder). Make sure you have full access rights to this folder and everything inside for AS to work correctly. The position of palettes etc are stored when you close AS so you could set things up how you like then close and reopen AS to lock them in. So long as you have rights to that file you should be OK.

All previous versions of Advance Steel worked fine with the first suggestion in this thread. Not sure about the file permission, especially when it already looks like I have full permission.

Hi,

Try making a user called "Everyone" and giving them Full Access to that data folder and all contents. This is what AS really wants. Other user names may or may not work.
