Drawing Crash

Hi,

My Advance Steel drawing crashed unexpectedly and if I recover the drawing, any object that wasn't created by Advance Steel is deleted (3D solids, surfaces...etc). It shows all objects in the preview but when the drawing opened, it's all disappeared.

Any help?

Hi @Anonymous

Have you tried the All Visible button from the Tool Palette, it is probably also worth typing REGEN3 and also switcvhing from 1 visual style to another. That should bring everything back into your model.

If not could you upload the model file for us to look at?

Hi Rob,

Yeah, I've tried that. All the Advance Steel is working fine - just for some reason everything else (existing 3D objects shown green in the capture) has been deleted.

I'll attach the dwg below along with a screen grab of the preview I get when I go to open the drawing.

Hi @Anonymous

It seems like those items were XREFed into the model, the crash seems to have unloaded then, could you try reloading them?

Yeah, reloaded them and that's fine. Still missing any objects that aren't created by AS?

Hi @Anonymous

Hmm that is odd, it is probably worth having a look in the temp folder to see if there is a .bak or .sv$ file that contains the missing elements.

If you copy one or both of these files onto your desktop and rename the .bak or .sv$ to .dwg and open them, do they contain the data?

I have found this thread on the forum, are the items that are missing block elements? https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/advance-steel-forum/blocks-not-visible-in-model/td-p/7939900

Thanks, Rob. I've gone through the temp folder and changed the file extensions. Same issue applies unfortunately. It looks like I'll have to re-model the deleted objects.
