If you have run a drawing previously, by selecting the plus button , the new drawing views can be added to that existing drawing. Typically used in arrangement style drawings, where user has an extra view they may wish to add via a camera process, to a drawing they previously created.

if you press the "+" button you could select any drawing, it's not limit to a specific process.

Yes it can be used for any type of drawing process, but typically and assembly process would have created a number of views relative to the main view, using the style configuration.
Also I noted you have a process of assembly with parts, so that would call for a style of assemble any secondary step for associated parts, so I would be careful what you are trying to add manually.
