Cannot Move Beams

Hello,

I hope you are all doing fine.

A colleague of mine is unfortunately facing an issue with moving objects.

These beams were assigned to a level, which we deleted and kept the objects, but the beams still will not move.

The beams were on a Z offset but we changed it back to 0 and the issue still persists.

Please see screenshots below:

There seems to be some sort of restriction on the beam but we do not know why.

We also tried deleting all connections on the beam so it was just a plain beam and it still would not move.

We are quite puzzled and would appreciate some insight on this matter.

Thank you so much for your time.

Hi Mick,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately we have tried that and the icons for the detach elements did not appear.

Please see below our process:

1.png

This is before any changes. We have the created 'Ground Floor' level and the beam is attached to that level as shown in the image above.

2.png

We then tried deleting the level but keeping all elements. This removes the beams attachment to the level as shown in the image above.

(view in My Videos)

As shown in the video above, after removing the association with the level, the beam is not able to move. There was also an offset on the beam which we removed and the beam still would not move.

As mentioned in the original post, we also tried deleting connections to the beam so the beam is just by itself and it still would not move.

your beams are connected to a level:

you could remove the beams or change the height of the level

Hi Mick,

Please see the attached. It happens on a good amount of beams, but for specifics to what I was initially showing in posts above, please refer to B107, B114, B1018, B1194.

@Sebastian_Eiche , Please take a look too.

As I wrote, the beams are set to a level.
Example:

B107 is set to Level T/O 2nd Floor (right mouse button):

Mark Elements--the beam ist set to this level. You could use the command for detach elements and then then select the beams and afterwaards the geometry points:

Now you could move the beam as you want:

The beam I have moved is attached to the 2nd floor not the ground.

Thank you both for your help on this matter, @Sebastian_Eiche and @mick-CNF .

We understood about the detach elements but were confused about the beam saying it was on the Ground Floor, but we had to detach from the Second Floor.
