Hi all what is good form when setting a beam height which is a bit above a level ie. the PFC is 330mm above Level 2
DO I just add the 330 with the Z value as shown or is there a better way. The red line associated with the beam (Has it got a name?) stays at the Level 2 level. Is that a problem for anything later down the track ie. Dims

It depends on what you ant to achieve. If the level is for viewing purposes only then I would not worry about the red line being on the level. Just MOVE the beam up. I never use the Y or Z offsets in the beam properties as they move the beam relative to the system line (the correct name of the red line). The system line is used as the datum for all dimensioning in the part and assembly drawings. If the system line is not in a logical position within the beam then none of your dims make any sense.
If you are trying to use the level to control the height of the beams so you can move a whole level easily then you will probably be best off having several levels.
