Is it possible to change the description of a profile without corrupting my whole database?  I want my FL (Flat) to read as BAR when appearing on bill of material templates on drawings.

Hi,

you can change that here, but never the SectionName!

So if I'm understanding your comment correctly before I change anything I can change the standard name only to get my desired results.  The section name has to remain as it is in the data base.

Hi,

yes, because the section name is ruled to a profile coverter tool for EXT_profiles.

But you can safe your original AstorProfiles before.

Another way is to map the names of flats, but the time you have to invest is the same.

1. You have to set Mapping in Management Tools

2. now you need a conversation table, the MapInternToExtern is used for this. In AstorBase you will find the mapping table from plates to flat´s. Please keep this table! In AstorCurrentAddIn is a similar table but empty. If you type in anything this table AS is automatically use this one. If this table is empty AS use automatically the table from AstorBase!

Internal is the name from AstorProfiles... External1 is what you get after mapping!

I tested it before seeing this response and it didn't work.  Let me see if I can get it to work as you've posted above.

It worked as I originally tried I just think it needed an additional update of the defaults.  Thank you so much Karsten_Bork

Got it now.  I had to change it under the language preference as well to have it work.  Thank you.
