Update to some common sense problems. maybe Gernot.Jeromin can let us know why this hasn't been fixed yet, and tell us when it will be fixed? As a client and shareholder, i'm not impressed.

Hello Stephen,

Can you please mention:

1. The version of Advance Steel (type: ASTORABOUT in command line)

2. Did you change your Display Settings (for example the resolution)?

I am pretty sure that this is an already fixed issue on newer versions.

I tested on Advance Steel 2018 and 2019 version and works fine.

Regards,

Roxana

Not Bad, only three weeks to answer such a simple question.

So guys are they fixed or not, this was one of the issues that made me decide not to start using AS. I'm still keeping an eye on progress to see if or when its worth getting.

That just looks like a Windows display scaling issue. If you're on a 4K screen, then using the scaling option to go back to 100%, but everything might be too small?

I do have 4k screens however this issue is not limited to 4k monitors. I can assure you this is not fixed with normal monitors from my colleagues screens. We want adjustable windows, plain and simple.

Good Point, Stephen,

We slide the connections properties on the left all day long.

Nothing to do with monitors being 4k.

If it is made of steel, I can model it and detail it.

This is a problem on 2019 for me as well. This should not be an issue and has been brought up several times. When will we see a hotfix for 2019?

We need to keep making noise until they do. I plan on doing just that.

What's your Windows Display Scaling set to?

The display scaling is irrelevant. The dialogs should be resizable and they aren't. This is a basic function of windows and should be included. I resize my Document Manager (which is one of the only resizable dialogs) all the time and it resets constantly. Happened in 2018 too.

150 percent. But like we have said multiple times, this has nothing to do with scaling. This has been present since 2015 and we demand a fix. I love this program but this should not be a issue anymore. Ignore the fact that the pic was taking with 4k monitors, we just want scalable windows.

I can replicate the issue on a 1920x1080 screen with 150% scaling, so I do get the same result. However, I have 100% for my day to day work so I don't notice it.

I'm not on the dev team so hopefully someone who is has picked up on this thread.

If the dialogs were resizable this would not be an issue. Here's a good example on the stair macro. I should be able to resize this dialog so I can read all of the text in each section. dialog.png

It's not just resizing that's an issue, it's having to do it every time you open a dialog box, they need to remember their setting/location, fundamentals not rocket science. So unbelievably unprofessional, and more akin to freeware than  subscription based software.

Hello @Anonymous

As I mention, the issue is fixed on Advance Steel 2018 and Advance Steel 2019 regarding the compliance with 4k monitors.

The development team is aware by using DPI Scaling > 100% the problem should be still encountered.

Hope this is helpful,

Roxana

hello Roxana,

what do you mean by that statement? Is 4k supported by 2018 and 2019 AS? and are you talking about the dev team being aware of the 150% plus scalling? because like we said, this has nothing to do with the intent of this post, I can post pictures from a 1080p monitor if that helps?

On a second note, can you provide us with a progress of the dev teams hotfix 1 for AS2019? and IF the fix will finally allow us to resize windows?

Yes, AS 2018/2019 supports 4k monitors having dpi scaling set to 100%.

Also, Windows 10 comes with a much better support for 4K monitors then Windows 7.

Please tell me what is your working environment (win version, monitors, display settings) in order to identify the problem.

I do appreciate the attention you are giving this thread Roxana, I will provide a more complete report regarding the issue this weekend.

Its not the scaling issue, its that the dialog boxes can't be resized. Regardless of scaling, these guys are wanting to resize dialog boxes to include all the text they want to see.

To the OP, I spoke to a colleague, and he found a little app that will do it, its a third party app, but it'll resize boxes that can't be resized apparently. Its at http://www.digitallis.co.uk/pc/ResizeEnable/
