Is their a place in advance steel that has a list of aluminum shapes and sizes from the aluminum design manual? The aluminum I beam shapes do not correspond to the W beam shapes

Hi,

Aluminium sections are not included in standard Adance Steel. You can add them yourself by following this FAQ: Adding Sections in Advance Steel

I would suggest that you use the database method since you are adding new ranges and sizes of standard shapes.

Yes I have been creating my own aluminum shapes, but I'm now in the need of Aluminum hand rail. I thought I would just create the section and start using it but, I'm not able to get to the "other profiles" menu in the hand rail dialogue. Any sugestions?

You need to add the user profile to the gui allowed section table in the Astor rules database via the management tool table editor.

the same process is used for stair stringers

Heyyy,

Do you know how difficult it is to do that?
The time it would take me to create all the material we need...!!!
I think it's time to add the Aluminum library to your program, don't you think?
It's quite what we paid for the...!!!

Be more efficient and add that aluminum library for all of us who are customers and those who pay.

Totally agree!

But unfortunatly, a year and a half later, nothing seems to be done about it. We alway's have to do that kind of manipulation of those "missing-nonsense" options by ourself on our free time... Please wake up!
